Hyaluronic acid is found in the synovial fluid and functions by cushioning and lubricating the joints. Synovial fluid is also essential for transporting nutrients to the joints. After training, the synovial fluid loses its viscosity and consequently has a reduced lubricating function. When the body is resting it produces hyaluronic acid to renew the level of synovial fluid. If the body is not secreting enough hyaluronic acid, the lubrication and cushioning effects are reduced and will wear down the joints more.

The body’s ability to produce hyaluronic acid is reduced as the horse ages, which may explain the increased stiffnesses in old horses.

A daily dose of VIMITAL® Hyaluron 100 will help the body to maintain the synovial fluid level for a continued lubrication of the joints.

Use

The need for hyaluronic acid depends on how the horse is used and the age. From 12-14 years the horse produces less and less endogenous substances. If you continue competing with your horse, it may be useful to administer a dose of hyaluronic acid as a preventive measure.

Young horses in tough training do not always have time to restore enough muscles to relieve the joints. It may then be advisable to give hyaluronic acid to a horse which will not have time to produce it in sufficient quantity.

Frequently food supplements are begun to be used first when the stiffness and at worst the arthroses is already present. Horses that are limping should always be examined by a veterinarian. But often warning signs can be detected early. A need for a longer time to warm-up, stiffer movements and reduced energy are all signs that can be detected at the right time. You can also observe how the horse constantly seeks to rest its legs when not active.

Give VIMITAL Hyaluron100 as a preventive measure or as soon as you observe any obstruction in the horse's movements. Dosage

2 x 20ml in the diet for 10 days.

Then 20ml / days as long as needed.

The first bottle lasts for about 40 days, and each next bottle lasts for about 50 days.
